12/18/2007 - New features in version 2008 (v8.0)Remote Command Prompt.
It is now possible to run the MS-DOS command prompt on remote computers, by right-clicking on the computer, then selecting Command Prompt. When logging in, you can configure the user account as well as the default directory: File menu > Configuration > Command Prompt. Domain computer filtering based on operating system, Organizational Unit, or computer name. This function allows you, for example, a right view list of only the servers and workstations in a particular Organizational Unit. These filters can be configured by domain and are saved on exiting the program. To configure the filters: click on the icon (right view).Management of WMI Methods that allow the modification and reading of WMI Classes. Now you can rename a PC remotely, change the network configuration, create a process, etc. To do this, select the WMI Properties of a PC, right-click on a property of the list, and choose whichever method you prefer.Display of the NetBIOS Comment, Active Directory Comment and Role properties on the left and right views. IDEAL Administration 7.0 manages the installation and running of software and scripts on network servers and client workstations.

You can remotely install Windows patches, run scripts or update software on all the servers and client workstations in your network.

This description makes you think of IDEAL Dispatch's description, and you are right, we have added a 50 user's IDEAL Dispatch license to IDEAL Administration, without any supplement of cost!

This version 7.0 also includes a new Active Directory management for the organizational units and users, a new XP interface if this one is configured, the DEP protection verification for the Windows 2003 Server SP1 before process the user password migration, and some other improvements which are listed below.

* Computer list
o New management to obtain the computer list in an Active Directory environment. This corrects the workstation computers listed as servers.
* Distribution
o Installation and running of software and scripts on network servers and client workstations. Menu Distribution.
* Migration
o Detection of DEP protection on Windows 2003 Server SP1 in order to suspend the migration of the user passwords if this one is activated. The migration of the user passwords can be done but needs to change the default configuration of the server. The software
provides all the modifications to be carried out on the server.
* Tasks
o Export in CSV file of the listed tasks. Button Export.
* IDEAL Directory
o New Active Directory management for the organizational units and user accounts.
o User password reset using the right click on the user.
o IDEAL Directory can be executed independently without IDEAL Administration: menu Start, All programs, Pointdev, IDEAL Administration, IDEAL Directory
* XP version
o All the graphics interface of IDEAL Administration have been modified to adopt the XP look if this one is activated on the administration station: menus, dialog boxes, etc.

IDEAL Administration 7.0 is now ready for Windows Vista, the new Microsoft's Operating System.

We have tested IDEAL Administration, with the help of several customers using the latest Vista version in their company, and all the tests were concluding!

IDEAL Administration 6.7 integrates the transfer of files and directories, as well as their access permissions (ACL), to all kinds of Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers.
This new functionality completes the migration functions already present in IDEAL Administration.
You can now transfer permissions keeping them as they are, making an automatic transfer, or a transfer under rules.
Automatic transfer:
When importing, IDEAL Administration searches for objects in the access permissions (Organizational Units, Computers, User Groups and Users) on the target computer.
Transfer under rules:
You define where IDEAL Administration must search for objects, based on the location(s) in the source domain(s).
Version 6.7 also includes new Active Directory management of Computer and User group objects.

IDEAL Administration 6.72 includes a task manager.

The task manager allows you to store databases of information about the computers on your network.
You can interrogate the database in order to get a complete, accurate log of the tasks done or to do on one or more computers.

The database is interrogated using a multi-criteria form, making it more flexible to use.

The task manager allows you to have an accurate log of the interventions carried out or to be carried out on the computers in your network. It may also be used, for example, to store changes in hardware or software made on them.

You can also set up alerts in order to get an automatic warning of the tasks to be done.

IDEAL Administration 6.5 beinhaltet einen Task-Manager.
Mit dem Task-Manager können Sie Informationsdatenbanken über Computer in Ihrem Netzwerk speichern.
Sie können die Datenbank abfragen, um ein vollständiges und genaues Protokoll über Aufgaben zu erhalten, die auf einem oder mehreren Computern erledigt wurden oder die noch ausgeführt werden müssen.
Sie können die Datenbank anhand eines Formulars nach verschiedenen Kriterien abfragen. So wird die Verwendung der Datenbank flexibler.
Mit dem Task-Manager können Sie ein genaues Protokoll über alle Eingriffe erstellen, die auf den Computern in Ihrem Netzwerk ausgeführt wurden oder die noch ausgeführt werden müssen. Zudem können Sie den Task-Manager auch verwenden, um beispielsweise an der Hard- oder Software durchgeführte Änderungen zu speichern.
Sie können auch Warnhinweise einrichten. Dann werden Sie automatisch gewarnt, wenn eine Aufgabe durchgeführt werden muss.

IDEAL Directory

Erstellen/Bearbeiten/Löschen von Kontaktpersonen. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf einen Container und wählen Sie Neu > Kontaktperson.

Verwalten von Servern und Arbeitsstationen von ihren IP-Adressen aus. Diese Funktionalität ist sehr nützlich, wenn sie in der Microsoft Netzwerkumgebung nicht angezeigt werden. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf ein Objekt und wählen Sie Nach IP verwalten.

Menü Neu für die Container Organisationseinheiten, Computer, Benutzergruppen und Domänenbenutzer. Diese Funktion ermöglicht Ihnen, Objekte in einer bestimmten Organisationseinheit zu erstellen.

Umbenennen von Active Directory-Objekten. Sie können eine Organisationseinheit, eine Benutzergruppe, einen Benutzer oder eine Kontaktperson umbenennen. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste und wählen Sie dann Umbenennen.

Deaktivierte Benutzerkonten werden durch Anzeige eines bestimmten Symbols, das ein rotes Kreuz enthält, gekennzeichnet.

Exportieren aller Eigenschaften von Objekten, die in IDEAL Directory angezeigt werden, in eine CSV-Datei. Wählen Sie im Menü Objekt die Option Exportieren.

Datenbank

Speichern von Systemereignissen in einer Datenbank. Möglichkeit, zu exportierende Protokolle auszuwählen: System, Sicherheit, Anwendung, Verzeichnisdienst, DNS-Server, Dateireplikationsdienst. Wählen Sie im Menü Datenbank die Option System > Ereignisse.

Exportieren der Ereignisse mit dem Database Exporter. Ermöglicht Ihnen, Exportvorgänge zu planen. Wählen Sie im Menü Datenbank die Option Database Exporter.

Exportieren der Ereignisse mithilfe der Befehlszeile. Wählen Sie im Menü Tools die Optionen Ausführen > IA.exe DB /?, um detaillierte Hilfe zu erhalten.

IDEAL Directory

IDEAL Administration besitzt ein neues Verwaltungs-Tool für Windows 2000 - und Windows 2003-Domänen: IDEAL Directory.

Dieses Tool ermöglicht die Anzeige, Bearbeitung und Verwaltung aller Active Directory-Objekte, die in Ihren Domänen und auf Ihren Servern vorhanden sind.

IDEAL Directory beinhaltet außerdem einen systeminternen Active Directory-Manager, der mit ADSIEdit vergleichbar ist und zum Anzeigen und Bearbeiten der mit einem Objekt verknüpften LDAP-Attribute dient.

Die Active Directory-Attribute, die für jede Kategorie (Organisationseinheiten, Gruppen, Benutzer und Mitglieder) angezeigt werden, können uneingeschränkt konfiguriert werden.

Wie auch bei IDEAL Administration können Sie auf alle Verwaltungsfunktionen für Computer, Gruppen und Benutzer zugreifen.

Steuerung über Remote-Zugriff

Die Steuerung über Remote-Zugriff liegt in einer neuen Version vor und ermöglicht das Herunterladen von Dateien zwischen dem Server und dem Client, gewährleistet die schnellere Steuerung und verfügt über eine bedienungsfreundlichere Symbolleiste. Diese neue Version liegt vollständig übersetzt auch in Deutsch vor. (Menü Computer, Option Steuerung über Remote-Zugriff.)
